Snow shadow | Serie | 2011-2013

exhibited at Museum für Angewandte Kunst Gera, Germany and accompanied by a handmade artist book printed on Kozo paper. Sold out.

Deep at the bottom
of my heart
shining snow falls. (Author unknown)

The work "snow shadows" is a search of the graphic nuances in the landscape. It photographically explores the border between the representational and the abstract; deals with the composition of the signs of an unknown language.

The temporary drawings are black-and-white meditations on the metaphorical and unconscious moment of shaping.

A calligraphy of nature.

Structure of latitude | Serie | 2006-2007

Shortlisted and exhibited for the 3th Marianne-Brandt-Award 2007

‘Structure of latitude’ is a series of photographs showing empty zoo caves of predatores. The structures revealing the strong human projection on the concept of nature and their domestication.

The longing for freedom is inseparably connected to the feeling of captivity. In a way they cause each other. Outer freedom, no matter how generous, is useless without inner liberty. An enclosure not only complements the image of an inner structure, of pre-defined conceptions and constraints but also the image of supposed protection and beauty of a constructed reality.
